At Great Finborough Primary School we aim to identify any additional needs as early as possible through liaison with feeder settings, close parent partnerships and experienced teacher observation. Where possible assessments are carried out through observation of normal classroom activities, rather than ‘testing’and every care is taken to ensure confidentiality and to support the child’s self- esteem.

 

Where additional support is needed,staff, parents and the child work together to create an individual plan designed to overcome the child’s barriers to learning.Where appropriate a range of relevant agencies may be involved to support this process. Provision is tailor-made to suit the child and progress is carefully monitored and shared with both children and parents.
