Safeguarding Department - Learning Disability and Autism (James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust)

The Safeguarding Practitioner - Learning Disability and Autism Specialist works with people who have learning disabilities and/or autism, their families and carers in their preparation for admission or at Out Patient appointments.
The nurse liaises with clinic, ward teams, consultants and GPs, facilitating pre-operation visits and helping with accessible information including pictorial care pathways, assessments, capacity and consent issues.
Interpretation and translation services can be arranged by staff, for users of this service.
