Fledgelings Pre-School (Brandon)

We offer a stimulating and nurturing educational environment for all children aged 2-5 years . All staff have a vast range of qualifications and many years of experience, including the manager currently holding a BA Hons degree in Children's Care Learning and Development. The Manager has a Postgraduate Certificate in Child Development, which she completed at the world renowned Pengreen Child Development Research Centre in Corby. Other staff hold qualifications ranging from a level 6 BA Hons, level 3 and level 3. We had a very highly successful Ofsted report in May 2021 we were praised by Ofsted, that children thrive in this nuturing pre-school, where every child really does matter. Ofsted stated that the staff have good safeguarding knowledge and follow well-established reporting procedures. Fledgelings also has strong ties with outside agencies such as, schools, libraries and Early Years Advisors in the area.

Setting SENCo recently undertaken further training to support those on the autistic spectrum. Setting provides support for wheel chair users for children attending the setting and their families. Speech and Communication difficulties and behaviour difficulties are supported using PECS and other strategies tailored to each individuals needs. Currently 9 staff are makaton trained

- Late collection fees of £10.00 per every five minutes past your allocated collection time. Late collection time will be added up over two weeks. £5 per week, late fee payment. Sustainability fee of £2.50 towards consumables. £6.50 per lunch club hour ( you provide lunch)

Fledgelings welcomes all children and their families. We work closely with outside agencies when needed and are strong advocates of building and maintaining parent partnerships. The setting provides additional information to support parents. The setting also provides equipment for all individuals needs.
Please note : As of Monday the 8th of January 2024, Fledgelings will only open 9-3pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a tempory period of time only. This note will be removed when Fledgelings returns to opening Fridays too.

Support for people with disabilities

We are committed to meeting the needs of all children. We work in partnership with parents; we work in collaboration with the local authority and outside professionals constantly. We have regard to the SEND Code of practice relating to part 3 of the Children & Families Act 2014 ( Updates 2020). Staff has undertaken training to support behaviour difficulties. The setting SENCo has undertaken further training to enhance knowledge regarding autistic spectrum.
Currently 8 members of staff have undertaken Makaton training. The pre-school has achieved ECAT status and use books, story sacks, and signs and symbols to enhance speech and communication skills. The setting is on one level and is easily accessible for wheelchair users and those with restricted movement/mobility
Staff have undertaken training to support with a wide range of medical conditions. We continue to access relevant training regarding SEND
