General Details

At All Saints Under Fives CIO we strive to make a difference. We hope to set free children's own ideas and follow them, not only the plans. We give children concepts and choices, we observe and evaluate what we see and watch those ideas grow. We try to be their constancy, someone to turn to. We listen and we want to contribute to their wellbeing, protect them and above all develop their independence. An extension of home.

All Saints Under Fives CIO is a continuation of an existing setting with over 35 years experience.  Pre-school Trustees changed the charity status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 14th September 2015 from a Charitable Unincorporated Organisation (CUO), to strengthen the setting.

These changes required a new registration with Ofsted.  Our new Ofsted registration number is EY497517  and requires an inspection under the new Charity number.  Our latest Ofsted report in 2014 is available on our website under our old Ofsted registration number 251398.

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

We are an inclusive setting. Practitioners work in partnership with parents. Parents input and own knowledge of their own child is vital. We support parents by offering links to other services (eg. 'Contact a family'). We liase with other agencies such as Portage, Health Visitors and Early Support and support children at relevant transitional points into other provision. The setting has a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) policy in place.  Accredited SENCo on site. All Staff are trained in safeguarding children, food hygiene and first aid and these are refreshed every three years. Staff are also Makaton trained. Staff have also attended Manual Handling courses. Children with SEND will have an agreed procedure in case of an emergency  and an Individual Education Plan to identify small steps. Key Persons adapt planning to suit the individual child and feed back observations and information to the SENCo. The pre school occupies a bespoke building with double doors, wide gates and a ramp to the raised outside area. There is an accessible toilet and child height toilets and sinks. There is an undercover area and raised equipment for example sand, water, activity trays and garden tubs.
