Support for people with disabilities
- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
We have our own member of staff who is our SEN designated officer who deals with each individual requirement. We are all able identify a child with additional needs and/or a child that is needing extra support in particular areas of development. The process for SEND in our setting is observation, identification of developmental needs and then a process of referrals. Parent/carer are always involved with their child's support plans. we use a SEND plan which is to help a child to progress but at the same time using their interest and keeping learning as fun as possible. All staff have access to professional training and this is a place we can assess training to support our understanding of additional needs and development delay and what the areas of learning may show.
