We’re here to help
At Greensleeves Care we are doing everything possible to keep our residents and staff safe during these unprecedented times. This includes, among many other things, shielding our resident by pausing visits to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be screened prior to admission and are required to adhere to strict protocols.
As a vital part of the UK’s response to the coronavirus, we are obliged by the government and NHS to continue to admit new residents into our care homes across the country. Otherwise, vulnerable people within the community will end up being unnecessarily admitted to hospital, utilising scarce NHS resources at the point our country can least afford.
There is also a large number of older people currently occupying hospital beds who are clinically ready for discharge but cannot yet safely go home. The NHS has again asked us to play our part by freeing up these vital hospital beds for those that need them most. Remaining in hospital would see older people unnecessarily exposed to the risks posed both from both coronavirus and other infections.
We would like to reassure you that we continue to ensure that every admission is appropriate for the home and is safe for both the new resident and those that already live in with us. We also take all appropriate precautions both during the admission process and once they have moved in with us. We are adhering to all advice from the government and Public Health England. The safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff remain our primary concern.
We fully appreciate the urgency and need to find a suitable care home for older people in our communities. We continue to support families to find the right solution while protecting our existing residents and staff. In line with the government requirements, we remain open for pre-screened and safe admissions in many home locations.
