Setting is open to offer childcare places to children of key workers and for vulnerable children. Closed Bank Holidays
Hello
Thank you for looking at our profile, We are Stuart and Ann a married couple who will be joining forces and working as a team again. in the new year. we are based at Brampton 5 miles outside of beccles just off the A145 that heads towards Ipswich.
we have been childminding for 18 years, and stuart is proud to be qualified to level 6 having my BA in Early Years and am working towards my BA honours.
Stuart is also very proud to be one of the few male childminders in suffolk that had worked independently, as well as being the first childminder in suffolk to offer a place to a disabled child and was honoured to take part in the newspaper article surrounding this.
Being male, I was often sort out by single mums looking for a positive role model for their children, and I work at all times with all parents to provide the best care for their children.
The last OFsted inspector stated
"Parents speak highly of the childminder. They say the has a 'wonderful way' with
children and is very supportive. They appreciate his advice around child development
and seek this when required."
The inspector also state that:
"The childminder notices any areas where children are
working below age-expected milestones and helps them to catch up with their peers. He
shows a detailed understanding of his role in supporting children who have special
educational needs and/or disabilities. The childminder is proactive in helping children and
their parents to obtain professional support and advice, when required."
Ann is back this year part time supporting Stuart as a childminding assistant when he needs the extra help at busy times because we are expecting Little Monsters to become very busy when the threat of the coronavirus eventually allows you the parents to have the confidence to send the children back into childminding settings again. we really do understand your reluctance to send your children at this difficult time.
Having said that Little Monsters is safe right now it has almost cut itself off from other schools and nurseries at this time to protect the Little children that come here. a recent test has shown us to be clear at this time.
We are early years educator and people often wonder what that means:
What that means is that i provide the education that very young children need
In children aged one and under, it means encouraging those children to crawling and walking and to give these very small children the self confidence to begin to do things on their own.
In children under two years old the education is about having the confidence in making friends, and learning to understand yout emotions when you have some words but not always all the words you need to explain yourself and becoming frustrated and throw yourself on the floor or stamp your feet commonly known as the terrible twos. It is my job to help them understand I am on their side and they need to understand that its okay to ask for a little help with things they wish to do by themselves until they can.
Then for the older children 3 and 4 year olds its about potty training, riding bikes. learning letters numbers and colours in much more detail and becoming school ready.
I Also recognise that not all children are the same, thats why I am a fully qualified SENDco which means if you are lucky enough to have a child that needs extra help, I have the skills to help both you and your child with this too...... helping parents to better understand their child's needs.
During the Covid-19 Pandemic I have been supplying chidcare to Key Workers and to my knowledge there has been no cases of the disease in my setting.
As part of my response to the pandemic and my efforts to stop it reaching us at Little Monsters I have cut school runs to a bear minimum having as little contact with the school as is possible to protect the little children in my setting and their parents. All regularly touched surfaces are wiped down often and toys washed at the end of every day.
Children are also encouraged to wash their hands regularly as do I, but face masks are not worn unless we have visitors such as potential new clients adults are then expected to wear masks inside. and to wash their hands at a bathroom sink before venturing into the house.
I am always willing to answer any questions you may have about my service so please do ask there is no such thing as a silly question, if you need to know then please ask away
