1st Melton Brownies

Learn new skills, earn badges, play games and make friends - join 1st Melton Brownies!
At 1st Melton Brownies, girls aged 7 to 10 get together weekly to learn new hobbies, get creative, explore other cultures and have outdoor adventures. Our Brownies also take part in special Brownie sleepovers, camps, holidays and day trips.
In their regular meetings, our Brownies work in small groups on skills builder badges like Live Smart (DIY skills) and First Aid, and have fun all together with unit meeting activities. They work towards interest badges in their own time, choosing topics and skills they are interested in and exploring everything from languages to space.
All Brownies are sure to try new things and take on a broad range of challenges as they explore the topics that sit within our six programme themes - Know Myself, Express Myself, Be Well, Have Adventures, Take Action and Skills For My Future. All Brownies can feel proud of their achievements with awards for each theme and work towards the Brownie Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards – the highest awards a Brownie can get!

At 1st Melton Brownies, we support girls to develop their potential and make a difference to the world. We encourage girls to participate in decision-making, to work together in teams and to take part in a variety of activities and experiences that will help them develop into well-rounded adults.
Our programme is girl-led and for girls aged 7-10. Girls can join Brownies after their 7th birthday. Brownies move up to Guides sometime between their 10th and 11th birthdays.
1st Melton Brownies is staffed by trained volunteers and supported by a volunteer team at local, regional and national levels. All our Leaders, Unit Helpers and administrative team are fully DBS checked. We often need Parent Helpers so please let us know if you can help out at meetings.
1st Melton Brownies believes in giving all girls equal chances and creating a space that is safe and supportive with a sense of belonging.
We are proud to welcome girls from all backgrounds and are committed to equality and respect for all our members and potential members.
We are proud to be a non-denominational unit and welcome girls from all faiths and none.
