
Suffolk Coastal Young People’s Project (SCYPPs) provides services for children with disabilities and additional needs aged from 5 to 18 years. The project meets in Saxmundham Fromus Centre, Seaman Avenue Saxmundham. Our group enables children and young people to take part in a range of fun activities and to socialise within the community, taking into account their varying needs and stages of development.
We provide fun activities for young people with additional needs ages from 8 - 18 years. Young people help to plan the activities by giving staff their ideas.
We run every fourth Saturday of the month plus a summer playscheme for 3 days over 4 weeks of the summer holidays.
1) A Saturday Club on fourth saturday of the month with activities both in the Centre and out in the community, e.g. doing art and craft activities, playing board games, sports activities, and going for walks. Bowling, parks
Our times are 10.00 - 15.00 and costs £16.00 per session £13.00 for siblings, All staff have the essential qualifications, we offer 1-1 support at no extra cost.
The project is run by a voluntary management committee comprising of parents, individual volunteers with skills in essential areas and a young member.
We also run a club in the summer holidays on Monday Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10.00 - 15.00 for 4 weeks. We take youngsters from 5-18 and do trips workshops and activities in the building like arts crafts cooking lego WII DVD'S
