Old Newton Under Fives

Pre-School Playgroup
General Details

We are a warm friendly Village Pre-School situated in Old Newton Village Hall, we have close links with the local Primary School and work closely with other setting's where Children attend another Pre-School/ Nursery.

We provide activities for children based on children's individual interests and abilities and aim for every child at the setting to reach their full potential. We make full use of our location and take children to the local park and woods, allowing the children the opportunity to learn both in the indoor and outdoor environment. We have an outdoor area which has ramped access and where children can plant and experience learning in the outdoors.

We have a very welcoming approach and encourage parents/carers to talk to us at the start and end of the session, We update children's learning journeys regularly and ensure children are meeting their next steps and encourage Parents/Carers input as your child's first Educators.

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

We have experience in supporting children with additional needs including allergies, Children on the Autistic Spectrum, Children with a Speech and Language Delay, children with hypermobility and children experiencing social difficulties.

We have two staff members who have received their SENCO training to support Children with additional needs further. We work closely with Suffolk County Council and other relevant professionals in order to provide the correct level of care, and ensure all appropriate steps are taken during any assessments or diagnosis processes.

Parents and Carers are actively encouraged, at every opportunity, to work with us to gain the best possible support for their child. We offer an inclusive setting, where all Children regardless of their individual abilities and needs will be able to experience a loving, engaging and educational environment where staff strive to enable their development, celebrating all of their achievements along the way.
