Lindsay Harris - Artist/occasional art workshops

General Details

I make three-dimensional abstract forms using sheet materials such as paper and card; the use of colour is often an important element (see Suffolk Group website).  I also spent many years making tonal and subtly-coloured drawings of abandoned interiors and still lives, which can be seen on my own website.

I occasionally conduct workshops, on request, which reflect those aspects of my own work and teaching which I have found to be the most inspirational and rewarding. My teaching over 30 years covered various aspects of art and design including drawing, packaging and the generation of ideas.

Notes

In my workshops I try to introduce people to the media, techniques and approaches which I personally have found inspirational.

My current three-dimensional work explores the constructional possibilities - and resulting evocations - offered by sheet materials.

My drawings - soft and tonal, of the empty interiors of public buildings or spaces such as St Audry’s and Anglesea Road Hospitals; Christchurch Mansion; Ipswich Docks, etc. - are concerned with abstract visual elements as well as 'sense of place'.
