Acorn House

Acorn House is a Supported Housing Scheme for young parents aged 16-25 (single people and couples) who either have care of a baby or are expecting a child.
The accommodation consists of 10 x 1 bedroom flats and 2 x 2 bedroom flats. There are a range of communal facilities, with staff on site Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm. Staff can tailor support to meet your needs and although the scheme is staffed Monday to Friday 9-5 support can be offered in the evenings when requested. There is staff on site during the evening from 7.30pm to 5.30am.
Our service offers:
Help to identify your individual support needs, as well as education, training and employment opportunities
One-to-one Support Plans developed with you, with regular reviews
One-to-one confidential counselling if required
Individual support with life skills, such as Shopping on a Budget sessions, parenting skills, cleanliness, benefit advice
Signposting to the relevant agency for any additional support including mental health, substance misuse or relationship issues
You can access courses, including the Freedom Programme to help you identify the signs and effects of domestic abuse, safety planning, and to help to set goals for the future.
We’ll support your resettlement, with bespoke activities to build confidence and resilience.
Help writing your CV and job search, with a training module which includes money management, health and well-being, and support with training and education.
