WE ARE NOW OPEN TO ALL CHILDREN
COVID SECURE INFECTION PREVENTION MEASURES IN PLACE
The measures we have put in place have been taken from Government guidelines. Our system of controls include cleaning hands more thoroughly and more often, good respiratory hygiene by promoting the "catch it, bin it, kill it" approach with the children, enhanced cleaning including disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and toys, wearing appropriate PPE should a suspected case of Covid-19 arise and minimising contact with individuals showing signs of Covid-19 and ensuring they do not attending the setting. 2m social distancing signage is in place for adults at drop-off and pick-up. All Saints Preschool operates from a community church hall in Bury St Edmunds. We welcome and support all children and their families irrespective of ethnicity, culture, religion, language or SEN. Our children stay with us between 1 and 2 years and we are registered to take children from 2 years. We are open in term time and offer a lunch club & early drop off. We have a large hall, garden, child sized toilets & well equipped kitchen. Our group employs 6 members of qualified and very experienced staff who have worked as a successful team for many years. Parents/carers are invited to join the Friends of All Saints who are a fundraising & community group.
We build positive relationships with our children & families through the Key Person system. By observing and recording evidence of a child’s progress and working in partnership with their parents/carers, we can plan to support and challenge each child. We have a SENCO who will work with outside agencies to support the development of a child with SEN. Our staff are trained in Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid to keep all our children safe and healthy.
We use the Early Years Foundation Stage to identify and plan for the developing knowledge, skills and attitudes that children need to reach their full potential. We carefully plan educational activities to cover the 7 areas of learning (personal, social & emotional, communication & language, physical development, mathematics, literacy, understanding the world and expressive arts & design). We do this in ways which reflect the interests and stages of all our children.
We have a stimulating garden with a covered area, grass and safety surface where the children can run, ride, build, paint, draw, pretend, write, make music, garden & explore sand & water. The children have access to outdoors each day to help promote health & well-being.
Our hall is large, light and airy and we are able to provide a very broad range of activities daily. The children can enjoy painting, play dough and craft, maths games, puzzles and construction, domestic & themed role-play, science activities, music & dance, reading & books, small world imaginary play and large physical equipment (climbing frames, slide, soft play etc.).
By offering such a large choice, the children can develop their interests as well as explore areas they may not always have access to. This builds the healthy, confident and happy children we help to develop at All Saints Preschool.
