Children are engaged in a stimulating happy and safe environment, all children are treated on an individual basis and their learning comes from their interest and curiosity as well as planned activities. Wide range of indoor/outdoor toys, activities and equipment for all ages and developmental stages. I regularly visit local parks, childminding groups, go fruit picking, libraries etc. I do a daily diary for children up to the age of three. I provide parents with an information pack after initial visit, including contracts, policies, day-to-day activities, qualifications etc. I am qualified to NVQ Level 3 and an accredited Childminder therefore I am able to offer Early Education Funded places.

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

As an early years educated childminder I assess and observe all the children continually in line with the Early Years foundation stage [EYFS] set out by the government.I will have discussions with you regarding your child and any concerns you may have about your child's development and progress.

All children who are new to my service are assessed as a starting point to see their individual progression.

I talk  with all my parents/carers at the beginning and end of my working day

A 2 year old development check is undertaken jointly with parents /carers to review ongoing progress.

I have extensive child-development knowledge which I have gained through training and working within childcare since 1996,I use this knowledge when making judgments and decisions about support.

Any concerns I have will be discussed with you initially and with your permission, I would then speak to professionals to gain further specific advice.

If I have concerns about any child I would follow my inclusion and SEND policies.

I have previously worked with professionals for several children in my service, including speech therapist, occupational therapist ,social workers and the area senco.

I follow professional advice to assist with progress specifically for your child.

I can access advice from Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator [SENCO] (pacey) co-ordinator, or specific professional,Ie. health care worker.

I am an accredited senco [suffolk]

I access specific training as the needs arises to ensure my professional knowledge and development is continued.

I have previously undertaken training in areas such as Makaton, visual support, Common assessment framework [CAF], Betec in behaviour management, speech and language, SEAD training supporting children's emotional well-being.I am First aid trained which I renew every 3 years. I have attended training in safeguarding children which I attend every 3 years, and keep upto date on the Suffolk Safeguarding board web site.I hold a NVQ level 3 in Early Years Childcare and Education.

In My service I can provide Government funded places for eligiable 2 year olds and also 3 and 4 year olds. This is a maxium of 15 hours per term week.

Additional funding can be claimed for children with special educational needs. I work with the family to identify and obtain other specialist equipment where required; linking with other professionals.

Your child's overall well-being is my personal concern.

I am responsible for each child's safety and security- both physically and Emotionally during their time in my care. Emotioanally I aim to support and enhance each child's self-confidence and self-esteem. Physically I aim to keep them safe from harm.

I have a behaviour policy which I implement. Positive Behaviour is re-enforced and encouraged using genuine praise.

I work closely with all children in my service. I liaise and involve parent/carers continually.As stated before, I support children by working closely with all professionals who may be involved with any child in my care and follow advice from professionals involved in their care. I follow my policies including;Physical contact, confidentiality and risk assessment to help support all children.

I assist you to support your child with ongoing assessments and development. I focus on your child's strengths, building on these to boost each child's self-esteem and confidence.

I work from my home which is a bungalow, there is a small step up from the drive into my front door. There is also a small step down from my back door to the garden. the outdoor area is very large and on one level. Toilet facilities are downstairs. My doorways are not wide enough for a full sized wheel chair.
