Springfields Day Nursery (Wells Hall Road)
Day nursery
Springfields Day Nursery opened in September 2016 and was awarded an OUTSTANDING OFSTED grading at our first inspection in September 2018. At Springfields Day Nursery we believe that every child that comes to nursery should feel happy and included so they can learn and develop at their own speed amongst people who really care for them. We have a warm and inviting baby room(0 months-2 years) offering a wide variety of opportunities for our babies to grow and flourish in a home from home environment. The preschool room caters for children from 2 years to 5 years. It is a free flow environment where children can access the outdoors all year round in our large wrap around garden. Children are encouraged to be independent with the close support of an experienced and caring team.

Support for people with disabilities
- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
At Springfields Nursery we aim to offer excellence and choice to all our children, whatever their ability or needs. We have high expectations of all our children. We aim to achieve this through the removal of barriers to learning and participation. We want all our children to feel that they are a valued part of our setting community. Through appropriate curricular provision, we respect the fact that children:
have different educational and behavioural needs and aspirations;
require different strategies for learning;
acquire, assimilate and communicate information at different rates;
need a range of different teaching approaches and experiences.
Staff use a range of strategies to meet children’s Special Educational Needs. Learning and activities have clear learning objectives, we differentiate work appropriately, and we use assessment to inform the next stage of learning.
Individual Support Plans (ISPs), which employ a small-steps approach, feature significantly in the provision that we make in the setting. By breaking down the existing levels of attainment into finely graded steps and targets, we ensure that children experience success.
The setting is wheelchair accessible.
There are Makaton trained staff within the setting.
