St Elizabeth Hospice

Coronavirus Support

St Elizabeth Hospice is supporting the community throughout the pandemic.

LivingGrief bereavement service

LivingGrief is the St Elizabeth Hospice bereavement service.

We are here to help open up conversations about grief and support you and loved ones throughout bereavement. Together, we can talk about grief.

LivingGrief is available to anyone affected by grief from a progressive, life-limiting illness or from COVID-19.

You do not need to have had previous contact with the hospice to access our bereavement services.

Access the emotional wellbeing and LivingGrief phoneline on 0300 303 5196, 9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday.

The enquiry line is available for anyone who is impacted by the current crisis or grief, regardless of whether they have accessed the hospice before.

The team can provide 1:1 counselling, family and group support. They specialise in working with clients that are impacted by a life limiting illness and those affected by a bereavement.

Bereavement support and information resources are also on their website, including a third party service called GriefChat where individuals can speak directly with a specially trained bereavement counsellor through instant online chat.

This is a challenging time for children and young people so the hospice has launched a new 565 Service providing emotional support to 5-18 year olds. Information, top tips and activities to help parents and schools support children through their loss during the pandemic is also available.

General Details

St Elizabeth Hospice is here for people living with progressive and life-limiting illnesses.

Our work is centred around an individual's needs, which means specialist support, wherever it is required, whether at home, in the community or at the hospice.

We help people deal with problems such as pain, anxiety and fatigue, as well as offering practical advice and family support.

The hospice is an independent charity which provides services free of charge. Every year, our services cost £12.9 million to run, 70% coming from the local community. We rely on fundraising, donations and volunteers to keep going.
