Support for people with disabilities
- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
Our School has a SENCO who holds the NASENCO qualification. We have two HLTA’s who have relevant training in interventions. All our remaining LSA’s hold up to date training in interventions. We regularly meet with other agencies such as speech and language, health workers, learning support, outreach services and others.
Interventions are adapted where required and include: Toe by toe, gym trail, catch up reading, bubble talk time, phonics, ALS 3 and 4, one to one tuition, PSHE creative group, reading and writing, mentoring, FLS, one to one support, dyslexic outreach services, more able reading, more able writing, springboard maths, behavioural support and our EHCP offer with multi agency support. We endeavour to meet the needs of all our children and will add to or adapt interventions to suit the children we provide for.We assess interventions every half term to ensure progress is being made and make changes where necessary.
Meetings are held with teachers, children, LSA’s and parents to establish targets and objectives for the next half term.
