Felixstowe Museum is situated at Landguard Point (John Bradfield) viewing area, between the Fort and Port. There are 14 display areas, covering the rich social and military history of the Felixstowe area, as well as temporary displays.

  • The Museum Shop and The Beehive Cafe, serving coffee, teas, cakes and icecreams, are open to all.  
  • Education and group visits at other times by arrangement.
  • Reference library available to researchers, also by arrangement.

Entry Fee: Adults £5, children £1, under-fives free

Ample paid parking outside the museum gates.
Transport
No.77 bus, hourly to Landguard from Ipswich via Felixstowe. Foot ferry from Harwich/Shotley during summer. Open-top bus from Felixstowe Ferry to Landguard during the schools' summer holidays.
Restrictions to access
Felixstowe Museum is wheelchair friendly. The museum is a listed building so a few doorways are too narrow for the widest wheelchairs however a basic wheelchair is available for visitors to borrow (phone or email to book).

The Museum is closed to the public during the winter (end of October until Easter).  Check our website for details.    Visit Us

Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays: 1100-1700 Last admission 1600 (Easter until the end of October). Private group visits at other times (by arrangement) for education and other organisations.

Cost Details
Normal admission: Adults £5, children 5-16 £1.00, under 5's free. Young carers Max-Card scheme applies. Joint tickets with Landguard Fort will be available in 2024: Adults £11, children £5, under 5's free. This allows for ONE visit to each attraction throughout 2024 season. Admission costs may be different on special events days and for private visits.

Notes

Children enjoy the Trewick Owl Trail - find out where the owls have roosted this year!  We are also a learning destination for students of the Suffolk Children's University

We have retained out special exhibition: Frankie Goes to Felixstowe -  A celebration of the 1980s in Felixstowe and beyond including local social history.

New for 2024:  

  • Reflecting on the development and history of our near neighbour, the Port of Felixstowe - in the newly refurbished 'Port Room'.
  • The 60th anniversary of Radio Caroline.
