Rural Coffee Caravan Information Project

Coffee Caravan logo

The Rural Coffee Caravan delivers information and friendship across Suffolk. Information is power – and the Rural Coffee Caravan  befriends people and offers them access to the information they need to empower them.

Knowing what’s going on in our own communities isn’t always easy. It is especially difficult if access to transport is limited, or the village shop or pub or post office has gone, or you live in one of Suffolk’s very scattered parishes.

We bring the Project to rural communities, equipped with coffee, tea & homemade cakes, along with all sorts of information about organisations and the services they offer you.

Also holds events called Golden Age Fairs which are a mix of information and exhibition with a strong social focus.

'Warm Spaces' will be running through the colder months. This will be at venues for a couple of hours at set times, where people can come, be warm, have a chat and enjoy a hot drink. Please contact us for further details and see our Facebook link below.

Notes

The Project has two vehicles, a mobile caravan and a campervan. Both are equipped with useful information and the ability to provide (free) refreshments. They are manned by paid staff and volunteers. These vehicles can be used as a 'stand alone' visit where we set up a community cafe on the village green or wherever has been identified as the best location. We stay for two hours giving residents the chance to meet and chat and access the information. this service is offered from April to mid October. Alternatively we can link up with any existing village event and enhance it by offering the access to information. Where we can, we bring representatives of agencies such as Age UK or Homeshield who can talk directly to residents about the services they offer. If this free service is of interest please contact us using the details on this page.
