We are the Nursery School & Day Care based at Framlingham Scout and Guide Headquarters, Badingham Road, Framlingham, IP13 9HS,
with regular visits to our Outdoor Nurseries in Badingham.

We provide quality care and education for children aged 3 months - 5 years old. Our staff have experience of a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

We are open 8am - 4:30pm all year round - 5 days a week during school term time and 3 days a week during school holidays.

We accept Early Years Funding for eligible 2 year olds (15 hours) and all 3 & 4 year olds (15 or 30 hours). At Badingham Playschool, funding can be "stretched" to fund childcare during the school holidays. For more information, click here.

We have good links with all local primary schools and strive to ensure a good transition for each child.

We provide healthy snacks to all children in the morning and afternoon.

For an additional charge, we offer optional breakfast and lunch to children over one year old. We cater for many allergies, intolerances and food preferences.

We believe that every child has the right to a great start in life.
To achieve this we:

  • Welcome and support every family by being truly inclusive,
  • Provide flexible care so parents/carers can make the best use of their funding,
  • Put early help in place when needed.

Our staff:

  • Respect children, parents/carers and each other,
  • Build warm, trusting relationships with families and children,
  • Recognise that each child is unique and special.

We are interested in the children we care for as people and enjoy their company. We love to see them laughing and learning new things. We are excited to see them progress and grateful for the opportunity to make a difference to their lives.

We are passionate about providing as many outdoor learning opportunities as possible for children aged 3 months - 5 years old. At the heart of Badingham Playschool is the philosophy that children thrive when given the freedom to play in nature.  Come rain or shine, outdoor play has many benefits for health, learning and wellbeing.  Badingham Playschool gives children the appropriate space to explore, learn and develop in the outdoors whatever their age, whatever the season.

When based at the Scout and Guide Headquarters, we use our outdoor space for all sorts of activities, including mud kitchen and water play. We also take full advantage of what Framlingham has to offer and go exploring most days. We enjoy long walks through the town and along the local footpaths. We also have great fun running, rolling, kite-flying and bubble-blowing at the Pageant Field play area, the Sports Club's field and Framlingham Castle's grounds.

To maximise the range of outdoor play opportunities that we can offer, we frequently spend whole days in our outdoor nurseries. With opportunities to climb, balance, run and jump, our staff have the chance to empower age-appropriate risk-taking which supports children to develop independence, confidence and good self-esteem. All this physical play is great stimulation and supports the development of improved attention spans too!

Anything you can do inside, you can do outside too...
Our outdoor nurseries are fully resourced to ensure children have access to a range of activities.  There is always a large selection of materials such as books, pens, paint and paper, clay or playdough and water play, wherever we're based!

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

Our setting is accessible.  Our staff have experience of  a wide range of SEN and disabilities to enable all children to become part of the playschool 'family' where they are welcomed and accepted.  We work closely with other education and health professionals to ensure we provide the best experience we can and successful transitions into school.
