Coast & Estuary Wardens

General Details

The Coast & Estuary Warden Scheme is an important element of the AONB Volunteer Scheme, organised by the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wardens help the AONB team to look after the coast and estuaries by being our eyes and ears on the ground and recording specific issues.

When Wardens visit any part of the coast or estuary in the AONB, their observations are recorded on the Forms provided and then submitted to the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB. Wardens must attend a Coast and Estuary Wardens Induction Day before they can commence with this work. All aspects of the scheme will be addressed at the Induction Day. Other training opportunities will be offered to all Wardens covering a range of subjects.
