Haematology patients calling the Haematology AOS line, have direct access to the haematology ward, when required, or to medical advice by a local haematologist on call.
Oncology patients with a suspicion of neutropenic sepsis, may be admitted via a dedicated rapid access pathway to a general medical ward or A&E. Any other AOS presentations are managed by the on call medical team / A&E. During working hours, AOS cases may be seen in the chemotherapy unit, unless direct admission is required.
