Brave Art in Bury St Edmunds - creative activities for adults with learning disabilities

Suffolk Artlink

“I’ve loved being on this course … everyone has been helping each other.”

'Brave Art' is an arts course for people with learning disabilities.

An arts training course for people with learning disabilities. Brave Art offers students the chance to enjoy exploring a variety of art forms whilst developing creative and life skills.

Students work alongside professional artists during three 10-week terms each year. Through artist-led sessions, trips to cultural venues and public celebrations of their work, students learn new skills and gain confidence, friendships and wellbeing.

Courses are run in Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and Ipswich and focus on a wide variety of art forms including illustration, dance, film-making, photography, music and visual arts.

At the end of each course, students are offered advice and guidance on how to progress on to volunteering, work experience and further training.
