A wonderful place for young people
In an age of gang violence and social networks causing the youth of today to spend most of their time in isolation it is refreshing to see that clubs such as this are still going. I attended a Youth Club myself for many years and can say that the time I spent there is amongst my fondest memories. As for this particular club I have nothing but praise for the volunteers who run it, giving up their own time to care for our young people in what is sometimes a thankless task. The facilities are great and the weekly subs are low which is great if you have more than one child who wants to attend! This is a wonderful place and I cannot recomend it enough.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, we really appreciate you taking the time to right a review.

Can't cope with disabled children
Their report may say that they have wheelchair access but that's as far as they go with disabled children. No understanding of special needs and what support may be needed and bad communication with parents about what support may be needed or how to cope with problems. Failure to recognise disablity descrimination and tackle it. I'd recommend trying somewhere else to this youth club.
We are disappointed to hear you feel that way, the other families the club has worked with over the last 39 years have been more than happy with our work.
I understand this is already being addressed by the Church but as discussed we are a voluntary youth club and do not have the training to deal with the such complex needs of your child.
Had you have made us fully aware of your child's needs when registering, we could have discussed this then.
Youth Club has a set of rules, these are in place for the safety and wellbeing of all young people in attendance.
Your wife and child signed in agreement to the rules upon registering, however these were not adhered to.
Youth Club volunteers do not have the appropriate training to deal with the behavioural problems exhibited by your child.
Alan Road Youth Club
Having read the negative review I would just like to say that as a parent of two children, who attended the youth club from 11 years old until 18 years old, I couldnt be more happy with the youth leaders. They were kind, friendly supportive and helpful to both of my children. I never had any problems with any of the leaders or children who attended the club. They went every Friday and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I would not have sent my children there if I did not think they were being well looked after. I would highly recommend this youth club as a fun and safe environment.
A brilliant place for young people!
As a former Youth Club attendee I look back on my time at Alan Road Youth Club very fondly. I always looked forward to going on a Friday night and there was always SO much for us to choose to do! Themed nights, quizzes, trips out, ball games, pool, Playstations and loads more. Singstar always brings back fond memories of great nights at Youth Club. It was a great, safe & fun place for me and my friends to go and spend time together. The leaders were always very friendly, welcoming and accommodating and as a result I have never really left! I now regularly volunteer on the canteen and value them all as friends. They are all lovely people and Helen and the team really care about the children, their wellbeing, safety and they  endeavor to ensure that the children have a fun time at Youth Club.   I couldnt recommend it highly enough!!!!
A great place!
I came to Youth Club here from age 14-18 and I looked forward to it every Friday night, knowing I would be spending the evening with friends and having a laugh. It is a safe place that welcomes every body and was great fun. I have lots of great memories of coming to youth club here and it is a time that I will never forget! Thank you to all the leaders that took time out of their Friday evening to help us you all do a fantastic job 😊
Both of my children attended this youth club and I have nothing but praise for it. They had a great time over the years and were both disappointed when they were too old to attend anymore. The staff team supported them through difficult times in their lives and made their Friday evenings a get away from what else was going on. The fact the staff give up their time for free to put this on is extra special. Even now when we bump into them they are still as interested in our family as they were when my children attended. The activities are fun and it’s nice to see young people having somewhere to go and interact with other people in real life and not through their phones!
Friends forever!
I loved Youth was a great chance to meet, socialise and have fun with people my own age.  Youth Club was where I really started to make good friends, friends that last a life time, literally!  I already knew my new partner but it was at youth club that we became true best friends! After a few years not seeing each other we met back up at Youth Club.  We have now been together for over 14 years and we are thankful to Helen and Iain for allowing us to be at the Club.  I know there are a lot of couples who are together thanks to Youth Club. It is a safe, non judgemental place for all to meet. Thank You to the staff for persevering with somewhere the youth can meet.
Chilling time
Youth Club was great, every Friday after school meeting up with your friends again to chill and relax. It was perfect and being looked after well too. If only me and my friends could go back in time and start that all over again...5 stars!!
Great place for Teenagers
My son attended this youth club for a number of years and absolutely loved it. Great safe place to intereact and make new friends. Lots of fun had by all and some friends made for life. Staff were polite and helpful and always around. Great little club. Shame there are not more like it.
