Elmswell History Group

Village history group, providing 10 monthly talks per annum on historic mainly East Anglian (but some national) topics given by professional speakers, and an annual outing to a place of local interest.

Most recently, group members have carried out extensive researches into the WW1 Royal Flying Corps stationed at Elmswell Aerodrome (1917-19).   We have now published a book on this, entitled "Forgotten Sentinel", which is available for sale at £11.99 at Bury's Apex Tourist Info, Stowmarket's Museum of East Anglian Life, and Elmswell's Wesley Hall & Cafe, School Rd, IP30 9EE (every Mon-Sat, 9.30-4pm, while stocks last), or by mail order at £15.49 (inc. p+p) from 01359-240846.

We write a monthly column of general and local historical interest in the following:-

Elmswell's village newsletter - http://elmswell.suffolk.cloud/newsletters/

In Touch magazine - https://www.keepingintouchwith.co.uk/downloads/

Wetherden & Haughley newsletter - https://www.haughley.org.uk/assets/Parish-Mag/20201124-HWPN-DECJAN-20-21.pdf
