What are Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHWs)?

Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHWs) offer consultation, support and guidance to school staff working with children and young people who are showing mild to moderate mental health concerns.

Schools in east and West Suffolk can contact their Primary Mental Health Worker if they need advice about the mental health of a child or young person in their class.

Important information for schools contacting a Primary Mental Health Worker:

If your school or college are in contact with the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) you should contact them for advice and not a Primary Mental Health Worker (PMHW).
