Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds

This attractive historic landscape has children's play facilities along side the river and is a favourite picnic area for all in the centre of a busy market town.
The Abbey Gardens, adjacent to the cathedral, offer a mass of horticultural colour, the occasional extraordinary sculpture and a small aviary. Walk through the magnificent Norman tower and under the portcullis and transform yourself into a knight from days gone by.
A sensory garden with lavenders and scented beds will calm the children down, and the ice cream shop is a treat during summer months.
