Local Offer Local Offer Record

Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities

We are experienced childminders and I am a qualified SENDCo and have undertaken Makaton and Baby-signing courses as well. We offer a flexible and individual childminding service which is fully adapted to each child's individual needs.

We are trained in Paediatric First Aid, all medication is stored and any medication given is documented accordingly. All adults (people over 16) in the house have undergone a DBS check. We also undertake Safeguarding courses regularly. We undertake any further training whenever the opportunity arises and have undertaken many courses, as well as becoming the SENDCo (Special Education Needs Disability Co-ordinator) for my setting.

Photographs are taken of children and shared in line with our Photographs Policy which all parents/carers view and sign before starting in our setting.

We have a strong network support from other local childminders as we are members of the St Edmunds Childminding Group.

We provide Government funded early years education places for eligible 2 year olds, as well as 3 and 4 year olds, if the parents/carers wish to use this at our setting.

We also take childcare vouchers as well as the tax vouchers.

We believe strongly in working together with parents/carers and have an ‘open door’ policy in that we are always available to talk with parents/carers about their child, any concerns, to share progress and wow moments.
