We provide bespoke person centred therapeutic services using nature, animal and Occupational Therapy to anyone who would benefit. We improve peoples physical and mental health using Animal Facilitated Therapy and farming activities.

Vision: To empower people to develop, recover or maintain their wellbeing through nature, animals and meaningful activities.

FARM THERAPY

If you or someone you support would like to access the farm you will be required to complete an referral form. You can request a referral form using the link on our website. 

Once a referral form has been completed you will be invited to the farm for an initial assessment. This will involve an informal visit which will involve the animals and information gathering with one of our Occupational Therapists. 

If you are a school or other setting and wish to book a group session we can offer you regular or one off sessions. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Sessions can include a variety of activities including animal care and husbandry tasks, grooming and enrichment activities, dog or alpaca walking and dog agility. 

 

COMMUNITY

Our Occupational Therapists and dogs support people to overcome barriers in accessing the community for example attending school or other services. This can be in combination with the farm or just community visit.

 

DOGS PROGRAMME FOR OTHER SETTINGS

We offer a 6 week programme to schools, hospitals and other settings each week involves a different activity including agility, dog biscuit making, dog toy making, dog walk and picnic. Each week develop a variety of skills including motor skills, social skills, turn taking, improved attendance, attention in class, improved engagement in class or activity, improved reminiscence in patients or residents with Dementia, improve emotion regulation and mental wellbeing.

 

Wellbeing one off sessions

These session include a mix of the above activities usually for 1- 3 hours. These are a relaxed opportunity for your residents or students to enjoy a positive experience with a group of dogs to boost wellbeing. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

There is a public car park adjacent to the farm. You can get 1 hours free parking with a free ticket. For longer stays in the car park you can use the ticket machine or the Mipermit app.
Transport
There are bus routes through Dedham Village.
Restrictions to access
We are a farm setting, during the winter the ground can be wet and muddy and can make it difficult for wheelchairs to access us.
Notes

We are an outdoor setting. Sessions are run outside in all weathers. We do have a small number of sheltered spots in the event of extremely heavy rain. However we encourage outdoor activities in all weathers.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of referrals, but please do still make the referral dependant on your requirements we may still be able to support you.

We are accredited by Suffolk County Council quality assurance. All of our Occupational Therapists are registered with the HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists

Our staff are registered Occupational Therapist and have experience working with a variety of different SEND. We have staff trained in understanding Autism, PDA, emotional regulation, mental health first aid, first aid at work and and experience of speech and language.
