Childminder
I first began working as a Ofsted registered childminder in 1994 and have continued to enjoy my work (and play) ever since! My main priority is for children to be happy, safe and secure and also that parents are happy in the knowledge that their children are well cared for, happy and settled.
I live in a quiet road very close to Sidegate Lane Primary School. The local area provides a good range of shops, play areas, bus routes, a number of toddler groups and a childminders drop in group. I have a good range of toys, books and play equipment able to meet the interests and stage of development of individual children, together with a good range of baby equipment. There is a safe enclosed garden for the children to play in.
I aim to provide the best possible care as well as fun, enjoyable activities for your child as part of a very important partnership between us all.

Summary of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Policy
1. Talk to parents/carers about the individual needs of each child.
2. Talk to children about their likes/dislikes and interests.
3. Support each child through sensitive observation, regular assessment and individually planned activities to achieve their full potential.
4. Provide individual support depending on the child’s needs.
5. Using the 2 year progress check to highlight if i believe a child is falling behind in any of the prime areas of learning. Intervention would not be delayed until the 2 year check if I believed there to be a concern.
6. Focus on the positive things that each child can do.
7. Lead by example and challenge any form of prejudice.
8. Sharing Information about children’s learning and development – and providing ideas for home learning – with parents/carers as required by the EYFS
9. Seek permission to ask for support from outside agencies where appropriate.
10. Attend appropriate training to ensure I have the skills and knowledge needs to support children and their families.
11. Encourage children to respect each other as individuals.
12. All children will have equal access to appropriate facilities and activities.
13. I will not refuse admission of a child or family due to any social, economic, cultural, disability, additional need, or any other discriminative reason and I will always try to make reasonable adjustments to the provision to ensure all children are supported to meet their full potential.14.
