Sandcastle Playgroup
Preschool
Sandcastle Playgroup is a ‘not for profit’ organisation and managed by a board of ‘Trustees’. Once your child joins our playgroup, you will be invited to become a member of the group.
Positioned in a purpose built area within Castle Manor Academy, we offer a wide variety of stimulating resources in an environment which reflects young children’s interests.
Whilst we are independent from Castle Manor Academy, we work in close partnership with the school for the benefit of both settings
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance to create fun activities unique to each child’s style of learning.
Children are supported by experienced and highly qualified staff who aim to inspire and motivate children to believe in themselves and become the best they can possibly be.

Support for people with disabilities
- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
At Sandcastles we believe that every family and child has the right to access high quality early years provision whatever their needs and disabilities. We are committed to create an Ethos in which everyone is treated with equal importance, feels valued and welcome.
As well as having a wealth of experience in specialist support for a wide range of needs, Sandcastle staff are highly qualified. Two members of staff have a recognised SENCO qualification and all staff have attended specialist SEND workshops. However, as every child we meet is unique, we ensure that work closely with the child, family and relevant outside agencies to keep us up to date with the information required to give the child the very best support and care.
As a setting, Sandcastles have been used as a case study for excellent inclusive practice by the Family and Childcare Trust. Video’s of the setting are used as a resource for parents, training other settings and Local Authorities.
We were recently nominated and shortlisted for Suffolk’s Raising the Bar Innovation Award for Inclusive Practice, for which we are very proud.
