Tracy Lindhofer

Before I registered as a Childminder in 1995, I worked in a pre-school for 3 years. We had children in the setting who were on their final year before attending school. This enabled me to attend courses on living and working with Under 5’s and learning through play. I have previously used the birth to three matters framework and now have taken on board the EYFS Framework. I have always kept a daily diary to share with parents and ‘My Learning Journey’ Profile takes this a step further. I enjoy caring for children of all ages and encourage them to learn through play at all stages of their development. We have toys and resources available for newborns upwards. I enjoy arts and crafts, painting, and drawing, play dough, sand and water play. Outdoor play and trips out are included in our routine. I try to encourage a child initiated activity and extend it so all areas of learning and development is included. I treat each child as a unique person with their own ideas and needs. Activities are offered but everything is free choice and by observing a child and getting to know them, a bond of trust can be formed. I encourage children to treat each other with respect, to share and take turns so they become part of a small group so we can enjoy games, puzzles and social skills. I am married to Graham and we have 3 children now aged 27, 25 and 23. They were my inspiration as I loved everyday I was at home with them. Policies available to view on request.
