Coronavirus Support

We are currently following Covid-19 pandemic advice from the UK Government. Whilst we are unable to offer face to face support due to social distancing, we have developed a vast range of services that are available digitally via video conferencing, telephone or email. Please touch base with the relevant contact listed below for more information on what support we can continue to offer you in these trying times.

General Details

Felixstowe YPS is a supported housing scheme in Felixstowe Suffolk.

The support is provided by Access Community Trust and landlord for the building is Flagship Homes Group. It is a building divided into 3 two-bedroom shared flats and 2 houses with 3 residents in each with shared bathroom and kitchen. Staff are based on site in Flat 2 and work between the hours of 8am and 11pm. We also have night staff who sleep on site from 11pm to 8am. (Although staff are available 24/7 they may not always be present at YPS Felixstowe Foyer.)

All flats come with separate shared kitchens and bathrooms, the kitchen is equipped with, fridge and electric cooker. Curtains and blinds are also provided. Residents at Felixstowe Foyer are not responsible for their own utility bills: water, sewerage, electric and council tax are included in the service charge (If applicable). TV licence is a personal choice and payable by the resident.

There is a personal service charge for Felixstowe YPS however if the weekly rent is not covered by Housing benefit or Social Care then the resident is expected to pay this.

Notes

Each resident will be assigned a key worker when they move in who they will be expected to meet with regularly. During their key work meetings residents will create a support plan, this is a plan of achievable goals they want or need to meet whilst they are living in supported housing. Residents must work with staff to achieve these goals as well as working on our own ‘independent living skills’ programme. This programme covers things like bills and budgeting, healthy relationships, citizenship, household management skills and healthy living and can be completed one to one with staff or in group sessions.

At Felixstowe YPS we often have group cooking sessions, where we encourage residents to choose something they want to learn how to cook and then come along and join in. We also have regular house meetings where residents get to have their say on ideas for outings, fundraising, or general things that are going on at the project.
