I am an Ofsted registered childminder holding a level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and have 16 years experience of working with children. I have also completed a Level 3 homebased childcare course. I have completed training in Safeguarding children, Paediatric first aid and food hygiene which I keep up to date. I have also complete training in 2's are special, Key person, Signs of safety, Prevent Duty in an Early Years environment and Infection prevention and control in an Early years setting. I am currently working towards my Level 5 in Early Years as well as updating all areas of training across the EYFS.
I believe children learn best when playing and with a good role model. I plan so that children can participate in a wide variety of activities that will help expand their development in all areas of the Early years foundation stage. Individual needs are met in a caring, fun, stimulating and safe secure environment where children are encouraged and supported with their choices and play. I have a fully enclosed, spacious rear garden with play areas, activity areas and sand/water play. I also have a spacious ground floor offering free choice of toys/activities and messy play/art area. I try to use outside areas as often as indoor areas offering a free flow environment where children can choose toys or activities that are of interest to them.
I will work closely with parents and take their wishes into account when setting boundaries and routines providing consistency of care in a home from home setting. Planning for the week will include local groups, trips to the park, farm, library visits, baking, messy play, art activities, song/dance/music sessions and homework or topic support for school age children.
I am pleased to offer nutritious home cooked meals should you require it.
I am happy to be flexible and suit individual needs.
