Debra Joan Winfield
We can provide childcare for 6 children aged 4mths to 8 years at one time. Our opening hours are 7.30am until 6pm, Monday to Friday. we can do school drop offs and pick ups. We are closed from Christmas Eve for one week and closed bank holidays.
We also have early years funded spaces for 2, 3 and 4 year olds as of January 2016.
Children in my setting learn through indoor and outdoor play, with stimulating activities that we will provide to enable children to reach their full potential. We also go on trips to the library, walks to the local parks, nature walks close to our house, and trips to the beach, to enhance the children’s learning and development.
We have a good sized playroom with a large tee pee in the cosy corner, this is a lovely place for stories, or role play. We have a role play kitchen, dressing up clothes and an ice cream shop, so lots of imaginative play to be had.
We have a baby area with treasure baskets, musical instruments and a lot for babies to explore.
Outside we have a large secure garden, with swings, a slide see saw, bikes, scooters, a large tractor tyre sandpit and much more.
We have a large table in the kitchen for messy play, cooking, and sensory play. It is also used for small group activities such as board games, puzzles or for practising writing and mark making skills.
We also help children who are moving up to school prepare for this transition, this includes activities that incorporate letters, numbers, phonics, and also looking at books about going to school, looking at photo’s of the child’s new school and their new teachers etc.
Katie has been on Makaton training, and also has level 3 ELKLAN training certificate supporting the under 5’s with speech and language development. I have also attended target setting for key person’s so am familiar with wring IEP’s.
Having working in nurseries for the past 9 years katiehas looked after children with global delay, Autistic spectrum disorder, and has supported a lot of children with speech and language difficulties.
Our setting is a self contained annex which I have specifically set up for childminding. We are in a quiet location away from any roads, surrounded by farmer’s fields and nearby woods.
We have a very large garden which will be used all year round in all weathers I have plenty of wellington boots and wet weather clothing for us to this.
I have over 12 years childcare experience and have early Years Professional status so offer high quality provision.
Debbie works as Katie's assistant, she is also a qualified childminder so will be able to cover holidays or sickness. We will be working together so there will be two adults for the majority of the time therefore offer high supervision levels.

- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
I am working for my daughter as her assisitant, I am a newly qualified childminder, I havent had any experience of Special educational needs or disabilities as yet but am hoping to attend some training in the near future.B elow is a copy of my daughters local core offer.
I have been on Makaton training, and also have my level ELKLAN training certificate supporting the under 5’s with speech and language development. I have also attended target setting for key person’s so am familiar with wring IEP’s.
Having working in nurseries for the past 9 years I have looked after children with global delay, Autistic spectrum disorder, and have supported a lot of children with speech and language difficulties.
I was one to one support for a child with global delay who couldn’t walk, and struggled with communication and social situations. I worked with physio therapists, speech and language therapist, and play workers in the child’s home, and in nursery setting to support the child. This involved making sure the child’s Individual Education Plan was followed and that I planned activities that incorporated these targets. I also worked hard to raise the child’s self esteem and support them when around other children.
I am looking to go on some SEND training in the near future.
