Trimley St Mary Parish Council

Trimley St Mary Parish Council manages the budgets that deliver projects and services for the villagers of Trimley St Mary.

Like many councils they provide a lovely range of well kept allotments on Great Field. These are managed as one of three Charitable Trusts by the Parish Council; the Ellis Kindge Poor's and Allotment Trust; Trimley Welcome Hall is the second and finally The Stennett Playing Field.

Trimley Welcome Hall is a versatile meeting place with a good kitchen, plenty of toilets (including facilities for disabled users). There is a large light hall with a permanent stage. A serviced defibrillator provided by the Parish Council is affixed to the outside of the hall. This is a necessity for many exercise classes. There is a small additional meeting room.

The monthly Parish Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month and start at 7:30pm. There is an open invitation to all parishioners. The meetings have a public forum at the beginning where everyone is invited to ask a question of the Parish Council. You are all welcome to join this friendly Parish Council meeting. There is some formal business, most of the discussions are inclusive and friendly.

Some of the regular agenda items are: climate change, Neighbourhood Watch, regular reports from our District and County Councillors. The Parish Councillors all have areas of interest for example: Sports in the village, footpaths and bridleways, countryside, bio diversity, local  transport issues and updates.

Parish Council website pages and Facebook pages are run by the council, along with a monthly article in Spotlight magazine. These are our regular channels of communication along with hard copy postings in the village noticeboards.

The council delivers against a Parish Plan. The refurbishment of the Faulkeners Way play area and teen shelter is one such project. The council organises and supports events such as the late Queen's Jubilee & King Charles Coronation being the most recent.

Chat benches and map boards have been installed around the village.  Tree planting as part of the Queen's Green Canopy has taken place and other plantings and maintenance is carried out. If you want to get involved in village life and help deliver the Parish Plan or if have ideas of your own that you would like to share please contact the village clerk.
