Kids Play at Bury St Edmunds
Out of School Care
Kids Play Childcare’s ethos is all about providing stimulating environments and activities to encourage and extend learning. Our highly qualified teams are committed to providing the highest quality nurseries, pre-schools, early education and wrap around care for children from 6 Weeks to 12 Years… and we have been doing just that in 24 OFSTED registered settings throughout the South East for over 18 years.
We have a number highly qualified and caring staff members, stimulating environments, freshly prepared healthy meals, and structured early years learning with an emphasis on play. we have nurtured a safe, caring and stimulating environment within our purpose built Baby Room. We use movement, sound, colour, and touch, while babies are encouraged to explore, develop and above all, enjoy their nursery atmosphere. We also have a dedicated baby outdoor area for your child to enjoy and they will receive freshly prepared healthy food, with all milk bottle feeds made by your child’s Key Person.
Every activity in our Toddler Room is considered a learning opportunity. These are more structured than the Baby Room activities but are above all, fun and stimulating. Our toddlers are encouraged to build self-confidence, develop their language skills, undertake, and engage in creative and messy play experiences and learn to relax at story time.
Our aim within our Pre-School is to ensure your child is ready for mainstream school. Our staff, many with Early Years Professional Status and qualified up to degree level, follow the key areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. The structured programme of activities is rich and varied and includes music, science experiments, creative play, gardening and more. Your child’s day is full of learning experiences.
We also offer wraparound care clubs, catering for parents or guardians who require before and after school childcare. Children can enjoy either a healthy breakfast of cereals, toast, and fruit or a nutritious after school snack and a hot two course evening meal. In our After School Club the children have the opportunity to engage in fun, inviting activities indoors and outdoors with the option and support from our staff team to also complete their school homework and reading.
In addition to our Breakfast and After School Childcare, we run our Activity Day Camps which take place every school holiday. Every week there is a different exciting theme, ensuring your child has plenty of variety, along with trips and swimming to add to the endless fun. Our holiday clubs are suitable for 3 – 12 year olds and we schedule daily activities to suit each age group.

Support for people with disabilities
- Experience of including people with special educational needs and disabilities
At Kids Play we aim to give all our children the opportunity to succeed and reach the highest level of personal achievement. We analyse the attainment of different groups of children to ensure that all children are achieving as much as they can. We also make on-going assessments of each child’s progress. Staff use this information when planning. It enables staff to take into account the abilities of all the children in the setting.
When the attainment of a child falls significantly below the expected level, staff enable the child to succeed by planning work that is in line with that child’s individual needs. Where the attainment of a child significantly exceeds the expected level of attainment, staff use appropriate resources and learning styles, and extend the breadth of work within the area or areas for which the child shows particular aptitude.
When the setting identifies a child as having SEN we work in partnership with parents to establish the support the child needs.
Where a setting makes special educational provision for a child with SEN we inform the parents. We adopt a graduated approach with four stages of action: assess, plan, do and review.
Our deputy manager who is a trained SENCO supports the setting this.
