Naturism is a way of life which seeks to be in harmony with nature. It is characterised by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment.

There are clubs near Wisbech, Ely, Ipswich, Colchester, Chelmsford, two clubs near Norwich and three near St. Albans. There are swimming sessions, usually at council pools, in or near Norwich, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Ipswich, Colchester, and Watford. There are designated naturist beaches at Holkham, Corton and St Osyth. Many other beaches are used informally.
