I have been working with children since 2008 when I returned to work after having my second child. I have worked in a Pre-School, an Opportunity Group and as the Under-Threes Room Leader.
I have two daughters who are 17 and 21. My eldest is at university and my youngest is doing an apprenticeship.
I live in the village of Wyverstone, close to Stowmarket. We are in a rural environment and I am lucky that I have a large garden and ample off-road parking. I love being outside and we have free-play between the indoors and the outside as much as possible. I pride myself on offering a home from home service and want you and the children to feel comfortable and welcome.
I provide a mixture of child-led and planned activities to cover all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and I keep online Learning Journeys for all the children until they start full-time school. These will provide a record of their achievements and their developmental journey as they prepare for the transition to reception.
During the day we play, investigate, explore and learn. I take the children on trips to the park, local toddler groups, libraries and soft play areas. We use water, sand, playdough, glue, glitter and paint and make lots of things to show you. There will be opportunities to dress up, sing songs, build models, make a mess and generally have fun whilst the children don’t even realise they’re learning!
I have experience of working with children from 3 months to 14 years and I completed my Foundation Degree in Early Years in 2017. I update the compulsory First Aid and Safeguarding training every 3 years. I am currently studying to gain a Hygge in Early Years accreditation. I am qualified as a Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator and have attended many other training courses including; Makaton, Autism Awareness, Physical Development, Food Allergies, Keeping Children Safe Online and Advanced Practice in Working with Babies.
