We provide an environment in which all children including those with special educational needs and disabilities are supported to reach their full potential. Acton Playgroup is completely accessible to all and includes an accessible toilet, changing facilities, wide doors to gain access to school area for lunch time and main hall activities. W have disabled parking areas for which permits are issued.
We comply to all guidelines in the Dept.for education(DfE, Special Educational Needs Code of Practice 2014.
Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator or SENCO - Louise Mitchell, monitors the needs and progress of children who have special educational needs.
A system of observation operates in partnership with parents and other professionals to enable us to identify and monitor children's individual needs and progress.
We have and will continue to: apply for any specific equipment required; adapt the learning environment; complete risk assessments; attend ongoing staff training; hold regular meetings to discuss progress and targets; use provision mapping to show how the children are supported and the allocation of funding.
We provide information for parents for additional support from the children centre, home start, parent partnership, social communication groups and 1-1 support, PSED Intervention Groups.

The WELLCOM Pack is used to assess children's communication and activities from this are used to support those with communication and language difficulties.
