Dimensions UK work with cinemas, libraries, museums and Belong by GAME Arenas. Each venue’s autism friendly training is tailored to their environment and guests. Adjustments include reduced sensory stimulation, increased signage and autism training for staff. Our training is developed with autism and industry experts, so it works for both our guests and the venues.
Autism friendly screenings are held at over 300 cinemas nationwide: ODEON, Cineworld, Vue, Showcase, Picturehouse, Everyman, Light and some independent cinemas. The screenings take place regularly and have adjustments to make the cinema experience more enjoyable for people with autism or sensory sensitivity. To find out more about Autism Friendly screenings you can visit the Dimensions website or the Dimensions Facebook page, or your local cinema.

Our classes are specifically tailored to suit those from a wide selection of marginalised groups, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the benefits of dance.
We cover both the creative and technical aspects of movement, in a variety of styles and genres.
Our aim is to promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing for all of our participants. We achieve this by focusing on multiple skill sets, which in turn also vastly improve the future life prospects of our dancers.
For Autism Movement Therapy (AMT), Inclusive/Accessible Ballet, Wellbeing Dance Classes & more - please get in touch to book onto a free taster session!
AMT is an exciting, innovative approach, combining movement, music and improvisation in a highly structured program, in order to enrich the lives of individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
Supported by academic research, the AMT method is proving to be one of the most effective ways to activate and awaken areas of the brain, which may otherwise remain dormant in these individuals.
AMT works by involving both visual movement mirroring and auditory receptive processing, alongside repetition of progressive patterns and increasingly complex sequences, to stimulate both the left and right hemispheres of the brain simultaneously.
Whereas in Autism, communication between the two hemispheres is impaired, this in turn promotes interhemispheric integration - cognitive re-mapping, made possible by the existence of neuroplasticity - through which both established and new neuronal pathways across the corpus callosum are strengthened.
Ultimately, connectivity and transmission across the whole brain is optimised, enabling individuals on the Autism Spectrum to process information in a far more efficient manner.
AMT has repeatedly been shown to lead to vast improvements in social interaction, self-esteem, behavioural responses, emotional regulation, speech & language comprehension, sensorimotor skills, focus, memory and consequentially, in addition, academic achievement.
Rather than “fixing” autism, AMT aims to empower individuals, enabling them to become more independent and better able to cope in an unpredictable, neurotypical world, therefore allowing them to lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

The Befriending Scheme provides friendship and learning opportunities for adults (16yrs+) from vulnerable groups, including those with mental health needs, as well as our existing members with learning disabilities. We also offer various volunteering opportunities.
Our One to One Befriending service is only for those who have a Learning Disability / Autism AND are experiencing feelings on loneliness.
THE ONE TO ONE SERVICE IS OPEN FOR NEW REFERRALS.
We also provide a Telephone Befriending Service - open to referrals from adults experiencing loneliness and isolation regardless of disability.
The Befriending Scheme began life in 1989 as West Suffolk Befriending Scheme. Our core activities are regular drop-in centres, known as Hubs, building meaningful one-to-one friendships between vulnerable people and volunteer befrienders and evening Out and About Groups.
Our regular drop-in centres, known as Hubs, provide a place for our members to learn new skills, have fun and make friends. Hub Groups run at five locations across Suffolk, the range of activities on offer is increasing all the time. Our members try their hands at an ever changing range of activities such as; drama, sports, music, crafts, and enjoy games, cooking and relaxing over tea and biscuits.
HUB GROUPS
Each Hub is run by a TBS Area Coordinator and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers. There are between 8 - 25 members at every Hub aged between 18 and 80!
Our Hubs are located across Suffolk, so there’s sure to be one nearby.
We also run a community care farm
- Friends Community Farms - Red Rose Community Farm in Lindsey Tye.
OUT & ABOUT GROUPS
(Our Out & About service gives Hub members a chance to enjoy being part of their community and get to know their local area.)
Sessions are held in the evenings and at weekends, including trips to the cinema and local snooker club, fish and chip suppers, tenpin bowling, swimming and pub quiz nights. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy these simple activities and gain a sense of social inclusion.
Little Steps Together
We run two free, weekly parent and baby/toddler groups in Sudbury, funded by Children In Need.
Tuesdays at Hive Community Hub 9.15am - 11.15am
Fridays at The Phoenix Family Hub 9.15am - 11.15am.Join the facebook group - Little Steps Together

Our Adult Springboard class is for adults with additional needs and carers are not required to attend unless personal care and support is needed. The tutors have extensive experience teaching dance to adults with learning and physical difficulties.
This class helps the participants to adapt to different situations and it assists with their social, creative and physical development. Engaging props, themes and stimuli are used to create beautiful movement.
Participants will begin to explore choreography and how to put moves together to create routines or pieces that can be expressive, narrative, emotional or purely physical.
For further information about this class please contact Box Office on 01473 295230.

INVOLVE ACTIVE Ltd is a not for profit organisation that is committed to listening to and building on the needs and aspirations of children, young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and additional needs.
We offer daily programmes and activities for young people aged 8-25 years and adults in a safe friendly environment, where service users can explore different interests, gain new skills and become more confident to be independent and engaged in the community and world of work.
Our services offer a choice of different activities either based at the Involve Centre Lowestoft or at our outdoor education/enterprise centre Goldcrest at Mutford.

We feel passionate about breaking down barriers to participation and enabling everyone the opportunity to be the best they can be.
I set the company up 10yrs ago and has grown from 1 myself and a volunteer delivering 2 sessions a week in a church hall to having two sites the Involve Centre and our new Gold Crest site, 12 staff 6 Trustees and over 40 service users a week accessing our services.

The INVOLVE Centre is a purpose built Centre set in relaxing gardens and vegetable garden. The Centre has a hall, and disabled access changing room and a reception area.
We pride ourselves on providing a quite relaxing environment that is small and friendly, with different areas that suit our group activities.
Involve Active Ltd has also a second site, GOLDCREST which is a 5 acre plot of land set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside that is rich in wildlife and habitats and has been untouched for 10yrs.
The vision that the service users see is that they will run a garden nursery, family allotment an upcycling project, a family camp site and develop a sensory woodland walk.
We want to develop a project designed and run by young people and adults with additional needs, offering potential job opportunities, work experience and training within horticulture, hospitality, business administration, thereby enabling more people to fulfil their potential.
Goldcrest is a haven, it’s peaceful and promotes wellbeing.
It will be a focal point for the community who can be involved through our volunteering opportunities as well as using the facilities and joining in activities as they develop. Alongside this we will improve a piece of land that has been left to deteriorate and grow somewhat wild, developing it into a useful and pleasant community resource.
Our new Gold Crest site based in Mutford, is an outdoor project, which builds on building employment and enterprise within our garden nursery. We have activities running which explore the world of nature and outdoor learning. There is also a family campsite and respite caravan for hire.

We offer activities and sessions during school holidays, subject to funding being available, everyone is welcome.

We help both primary and secondary children who are not engaged in mainstream education.
One site is within a working agricultural farm, children and young people will have the opportunity for out of the classroom learning making it more relevant and developing skills essential for the world of work.
The other site has a workshop that will provide practical opportunities, each designed to reflect vocational trades such as carpentry, art and textiles.
Nature and conservation are integral to P.L.O.T.’s philosophy. We have our own wood which allows forest school activities as well as Beach School as we are fortunate to be positioned near a beach area. Children and young people will be encouraged to explore, discover and learn about the great outdoors through projects and team building activities. We also have 2 resident horses on the farm which the children can take part in horse care and riding. We offer small group and high ratios of staff. We also have a therapist to provide extra emotional support for those that require it. All staff have an enhanced with barred DBS, and are first aid trained.
The day will begin with a philosophical approach, using the P4C (Philosophy for Children) framework, as we know the voice of the child is at the core of everything we do. This approach to the start of the day will also provide opportunity to develop critical thinking skills.

This club is specifically designed to go out and about and take the children to access mainstream activities, such as the cinema, go karting, shopping and bowling. The young people take an active role in planning the activities which normally take place between 10am and 2pm. They are encouraged to manage their own money and use their social skills to do things like book their own train tickets.
The club has been very successful in facilitating friendships and helping young people with ASD find the confidence to access mainstream activities outside of the club.
We currently have a waiting list for access to the Plus Club, so if you would to be added, or would like to discuss anything further, then please contact the club coordinator.

Topcats offer support for young people and adults with additional needs from the age of 5 years to 30 years old based in Suffolk.
We offer a weekly 'Choices' day time group for people who are looking for alternative day care. This group is open to anyone aged 18 - 30yrs with any additional needs. We base all activities around the group and with a high staff ratio we are able to offer one to one and two to one support and mentoring. Our activities are focused on community access and life skills within a safe environment.
TOPCATS offers fun, friendship and the chance to build transferable life skills in an engaging and welcoming environment. Once a young person has joined Topcats, we ensure that we take time to get to know each individual and make sure they are at ease with staff who will support them to make their own choices.
As a team, it is our primary aim to help each individual develop their own social independence and life skills in order to reach their potential in a supported environment. In addition, we are able to supply young people with a vast range of exciting sensory, art, sport and music equipment, to help them build up their awareness of themselves and the world around them.
You can pop into see us at our premises on Morton Road; the staff are more than happy to meet you and show you around! Alternatively, you can email Anne Marie to discuss things further.

They may pursue this through training to formal qualifications or simply be taken for a sail around the safe, enclosed waters of Alton Water reservoir by qualified instructors and volunteer helpers.
No previous sailing experience is required as Royal Yachting Association Instructors are on hand at all times.
Waterproof clothing can be provided and bouyancy aids are provided for all sailors. The specially designed boats are unsinkable and un-capsizeable and a safety boat is in attendence at all times.
Sailors are also encouraged to 'learn the ropes' by getting involved in the rigging of the dinghies for use.
