Everyone who uses SEND services in Suffolk asked for feedback in new inspection survey
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission today started an inspection of special education needs and disabilities (SEND) services in Suffolk. The inspection, which looks at how Suffolk County Council and NHS health partners support young people with SEND, and their families, will last for three weeks.
As part of this inspection, young people, parents and carers who use SEND services and practitioners involved in delivering education, health, social care and other SEND services are being encouraged to give feedback as part of an online Ofsted survey.
Councillor Rachel Hood, Cabinet Member for Education, SEND and Skills, said:
"It is important that Ofsted get a full picture of SEND services in Suffolk and day to day experiences.
"They would like to hear from everyone - those who have opinions about where improvement can be made and those who are satisfied with the services they receive. Every voice is welcome."
The purpose of the inspection is to provide an independent, external evaluation of the effectiveness of Suffolk's partnership arrangements for children and young people with SEND. The publication date for the report is not yet known.
The Inspectors write:
"Dear children and young people, parent carers and practitioners,
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are visiting your area as part of an inspection. We will be looking at arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
We would like to hear your views about the support that you get and how it is helping you. You can do this by completing an online survey at the link below:

Your views are important to us. They will help inspectors understand your experience of SEND arrangements in your area. The survey will close at 9am on 07 November 2023.
You do not have to take part if you do not want to. We do not ask for your name.
If you complete the survey, you agree to SmartSurvey sending your information to Ofsted."
