SEND Activities in the Lowestoft area

We have many providers in the Lowestoft area who welcome children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Keep reading to find out more. If you know of any others, let us know!

Cantor's Theatre School run song, dance and drama workshops, weekly dance classes and summer holiday sessions in central Lowestoft. All abilities are welcome to attend.

Involve provide short breaks for young people aged 5 - 25 years in the Waveney area. They aim to enable those who are most excluded or face barriers to participation to develop independence, community participation, friendships and life skills. 

Leading Lives is a Friday evening group in Lowestoft for young people aged 13-25 with learning disabilities. The sorts of activities on offer are cooking, art and craft, relaxation, gardening and offsite trips. It enables young people to socialise and spend time together in an relaxed and fun environment whilst also learning new skills.

Pakefield Riding School is situated on the outskirts of Lowestoft and Oulton Broad, and aims to meet the needs of the equestrian enthusiast, whatever their level of experience or age. They won an award in 2019 for their contribution to disabled sport.

Shine provide short breaks services for children as young as four years old. Their Saturday groups and holiday play schemes are focused around having fun, new experiences, building friendships, exploring new activities and more.

Topcats support children and young adults with disabilities and complex needs, and have a variety of specialised equipment to suit the mobility and health needs of the young people that attend.

Waveney Sailability enables people with disabilities to enjoy sailing in all its guises, and are out on the water at Oulton Broad every Tuesday afternoon from the end of April to Mid-October. You might see members sailing or sitting with friends having a chat over a cuppa and a piece of cake and watching the action. With specially built sailing dinghies and larger boats, you can learn to sail and compete, join in other sailing events or just enjoy the pleasure of being in a boat with a trained volunteer or solo.
